Demand Supply Planner
Cairo · Full-time
You will own the answer to two questions: how much will we sell, and what do we need to have ready to sell it?
This role sits at the centre of Commercial, Operations, and Finance. You will build the demand forecast, translate it into production and raw material plans, and hold the inventory position across the main warehouse, fulfillment sites, 3PLs, and retail partners.
You will also own our planning systems and data, working directly inside our internal ERP to make sure the numbers we plan on are numbers we can trust. That ERP is new and built in-house. You will help shape how planning works inside it, not just use it.
What you'll own
Demand planning
How much will customers buy, and when?
- Build and maintain demand forecasts by SKU, channel, region, and account
- Analyse historical sell-in and sell-out performance, seasonality, and promotional uplift
- Incorporate inputs from Sales, Marketing, and key account teams into a single agreed plan
- Track forecast accuracy and bias, and improve both over time
- Translate demand signals into actionable supply and inventory plans
Raw material planning and ordering
Do we have what we need to produce, and did we order it in time?
- Own raw material ordering end to end, from requirement calculation to delivery into the warehouse
- Maintain an accurate lead time profile for every raw material and every supplier, and plan every order against it
- Convert the production plan into raw material requirements, accounting for MOQs, batch sizes, yield, and wastage
- Place and track purchase orders, chase confirmations, and hold suppliers to committed delivery dates
- Maintain raw material safety stock and cover levels, balanced against shelf life and working capital
- Flag long-lead-time and single-source materials early, and escalate supply risk before it becomes a production stop
- Monitor raw material expiry and slow-moving stock
Packaging procurement is not part of this role and is owned separately.
Supply and production planning
- Convert the demand plan into production schedules with our co-packers and production partners
- Sequence production against raw material availability, capacity, and channel priority
- Manage finished goods freshness and shelf life; plan for new product launches and pack changes
- Flag supply constraints early and drive resolution
Inventory planning
What stock do we hold, where, and when?
- Set and manage safety stock, reorder points, and weeks of cover
- Own inventory levels by SKU, channel, and location, for both finished goods and raw materials
- Balance service level targets against working capital constraints
- Proactively reduce stockouts, overstocks, expiry risk, and write-offs
- Ensure the main warehouse, fulfillment operations, and 3PL partners are correctly stocked
S&OP ownership
- Run the monthly S&OP cycle end to end: demand review, supply review, gap closing, executive sign-off
- Align Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Finance on one number
- Surface risks and trade-offs with clear options, not just problems
Systems, data, and reporting
- Own planning data integrity inside our internal ERP
- Build and maintain the reporting that drives planning decisions: coverage, availability, forecast accuracy, raw material cover, aging stock
- Continuously improve planning cadence, process, and accuracy as we scale
Success looks like
- No stockouts on key SKUs, in any channel
- No production delayed or cancelled because a raw material was ordered late
- Forecast accuracy improves month over month
- Inventory is where it needs to be, in the right quantity, with healthy shelf life
- Write-offs and expiry losses trend to near zero
- Working capital tied up in stock is deliberate, not accidental
- One agreed plan across Sales, Ops, and Finance, replacing guesswork with structure
What we're looking for
Experience
- Hands-on experience placing and managing raw material purchase orders against supplier lead times
- 3+ years in demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning, or materials planning
- FMCG or beverage experience strongly preferred
- Experience planning across multiple channels: modern trade, traditional trade, HORECA, delivery apps, D2C
- Experience working with co-packers, 3PLs, and distribution partners
- Comfortable in a high-growth environment where the process may not exist yet
Data and analytics
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets. This is non-negotiable
- Comfortable working inside ERP and inventory systems
- Able to translate messy datasets into clear, actionable planning decisions
- SQL or BI tool experience is a strong plus
How you work
- Commercially minded, not just operationally minded
- Structured, systems-driven, and detail-oriented
- Confident working cross-functionally with Sales, Ops, Finance, and suppliers
- Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on
- Strong ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes
A degree is preferred but not required. We value experience and execution over credentials.
